Start with the Record Holder
Choose the agency that created the record. A booking belongs to the detention custodian. A city incident report belongs to the police department. A court disposition belongs to the Clerk. A state prisoner belongs to NCDAC. A federal or immigration detainee belongs to the appropriate federal locator.
Do not send sensitive personal material here. The private reference resource cannot verify custody, release, charges, or the status of a court case.
Gaston Sheriff and Jail
Use the official inmate inquiry for a current booking search. Use the county public-records portal for a specific booking record or photo request. The sheriff’s contact page says its web form is not monitored around the clock, so emergencies belong with 911.
Where to Look for Common Needs
- For a Gaston booking or possible photo, use the county inquiry and then the county records portal.
- For custody, release, transfer, or escape notices, use the sheriff’s VINE page or NC SAVAN at 1-800-247-9658.
- For a Gastonia police report, use the online crime-report search or Records Bureau.
- For a Mount Holly city record, use the Mount Holly Police Department.
- For a Belmont incident or body-camera request, use Belmont Police and its Records@cityofbelmont.org route.
- For court events or disposition, use the Gaston Clerk directory; the Clerk number is 704-852-3100.
- For state prison, probation, or parole, use the NCDAC offender search. For federal or immigration custody, use BOP or ICE.
City Police Contacts
Gastonia’s county directory entry lists 420 W. Franklin Boulevard, Gastonia, NC 28053-1578, 704-866-3320, and Records Unit Supervisor Cindy Rollins at 704-866-3326. The city FAQ lists Records Bureau hours Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Sundays and holidays. It says a first report copy is free for Gastonia residents and non-residents pay $1. Those are police-report details, not county booking-photo fees.
Belmont Police lists 201 Chronicle Street, Belmont, NC 28012, and 704-825-3792. The city’s video disclosure form permits delivery at that address, email to Records@cityofbelmont.org, or mail addressed to Belmont Police, Attn: Video Disclosure. It does not serve as a booking-photo form. Mount Holly’s reviewed page did not publish a separate booking feed, fee, or turnaround.
Messages and Corrections
For an error, contact the originating government custodian first and provide the booking or case identifier. For a court outcome, ask the Clerk. A private publisher’s correction policy is separate from the government record. Questions about expunction, sealed records, or a legal remedy belong with the Clerk or a licensed attorney.
